Sometimes, you just need a damn good cry, right? And I couldn’t tell you exactly why that might be-a serious mutual case of emotional impotence, probably (but I’m no psychologist). Whatever the reason, some times you just can’t beat a really good weepy movie-the type that leaves you grasping for your hankerchief and muttering something about allergy medication and having a nasty reaction to your cat. So we’ve put together a list of the ultimate movies to make you weep your eyes out-just don’t watch them all at once to avoid a severe case of dehydration. 1. Forrest Gump
I think what makes this movie particularly poignant is the fact that Forrest-played by Tom Hanks in a career-making role-doesn’t seem to entirely understand the sadness of what’s going on around him. Whether it’s the tragedies that take place over the course of the Vietnam war, finally learning to use his broken legs, or the fractured relationship with his childhood sweetheart, life really is just like a box of chocolates for the oblivious Forrest. Snivel.
