3. 127 Hours

Director Danny Boyle is a consummate professional. When it came to adapting the story of Aron Ralston, who had to cut off his own arm to escape the cave he’d been trapped in for 127 Hours (hey I just got that!), Boyle used actual footage of Ralston doing this to make the film as realistic as possible. There is, however, a glaring inaccuracy: the opening scenes of cave-diving with pretty girls is completely made up. It would be safe to assume that this was for the benefit of the narrative as it’s hard to really get to know a character unless they have other characters to bounce off of.
