5. Maleficent
It’s been a long time since Angelina Jolie has headlined a summer movie. Let’s hope her star power can propel Disney’s Maleficent into a summer success. Jolie plays the titular Queen, Disney’s first film from the point of view of its villain, whose efforts to destroy Sleeping Beauty will provide the backbone of the film. Disney are never ones to lack ambition, let’s hope this decidedly different take on the popular fairy-tale will translate in to a winner, and not continue their bad luck with live action films.
