7. Paranormal Activity
While The Blair Witch Project got there first, Paranormal Activity exceeded it in nearly every way. First of all, Paranormal Activity was shot indoors, which is just good sense as you could catch your death in a bloody forest. Secondly, the film was made for only $15,000, $7000 less than Blair Witch. Third and most importantly, the film kicked off a tremendously profitable horror franchise which, even after five films, continues to make a healthy profit. Take that campers!
