6. Gremlins 2: The New Batch
Rarely will a sequel even live up to the quality of the original, but here’s one that did. Eschewing CGI for the fantastic puppetry that defines the titular little monsters, it retains all the charm and elegance of the original with a slightly modified plot that gives it a hint of freshness. Okay, it might not be a masterpiece, but far too often it’s written off as another misjudged attempt to cash in on a great film, when it’s got a lot more going for it than just that.
