10. Jon Favreau- Swingers
It’s a comedy role that could have gone one of two ways- have Jon Favreau play the bumbling inept sidekick to Vince Vaughn’s cooler buddy, or play it the way they did. Favreau is bumbling and foolish, yes, and his ineptitude with women is something to behold, but it’s also clear how unhappy he is with his lot- how annoyed and aware he is that he continues to mess things up for himself. That in itself is a clever idea, but having the role played by everyman Favreau who brings a charm amongst all the loathing and desperation marks this as one of the most underappreciated roles of all time.
