8. Repulsion
Whatever your opinion on Roman Polanski, the man truly knows how to make tense films. And throwing a gorgeous young Catherine Deneuve at this British psychological thriller was a wise choice-she proves herself as more than a pretty face as she’s driven further and further into madness as the film goes on. Driven by some amazing cinematography and a terrifying sense of impending doom, there’s something eternally haunting about this flick that lands it it’s well-deserved place on this list.
