These days it takes a long time to be an astronaut, unless you’re Howard Waloweitz. Instead go to Starfleet, within five years you will be qualified to work on a star ship, shoot laser guns (on stun if you’re a good guy), travel to distant planets, meet aliens of all shapes and size (providing those shapes are female) and meet Patrick Stewart who is much better than William Shatner.
