1. Beauty and the Beast
Beauty and the Beast was the very first animated film to be nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award. To say that this signifies the quality of Beauty and the Beast would be an understatement at best. The film has had a monumental impact on pop culture since its release and is firmly cemented as an entire generation’s favorite Disney film. The tale of Belle and the Beast is an epic love story that even little boys, like me at the time, found too good to be icky. Instead of going, “They’re kissing! That’s disgusting! Cooties!” we thought “Aww, that’s lovely.” A truly powerful film.
