6. Basil the Great Mouse Detective
Sherlock Holmes has been through many versions in his long and prosperous career. He’s been a Victorian investigator, a grumpy pill popping doctor and in Basil the Great Mouse Detective, he is a rodent. Basil, named after Holmes actor Basil Rathbone, is the smartest animal investigator in all of Disney. Watch him face off with the Vincent Price voiced Rattigan, one of Disney’s most charmingly sinister villains. The Great Mouse Detective is a high point of Disney’s literary adaptations.
