Certain movies have a period of growth in the public eye. Some that are thought to have been failures at the time of release steadily grow a cult reputation. Reasons for this include: different public perception, a film predicting the future, or a film that subverts its genre. Here are 15 films that grew with age.
1. Minority Report
Based on the short story by science fiction icon Philip K Dick, Stephen Spielberg’s futuristic film is now a cinematic technology catalog. While the film has some great action sequences, a great Tom Cruise performance (they do happen), a great Colin Farrell performance (despite the fact he was drunk all the time), and Dick’s trademark weirdness, it also shows us a future society that is now very similar to our own. Primarily through it’s, albeit, fictitious use of touch screen technology Minority Report is like an ad for Kindles and iPads.
