Released a year before The Matrix, Alex Proyas’ Dark City is an old school hard-boiled detective story with the science fiction lurking, very much like its antagonists The Strangers, in the background. Starring Rufus Sewell, Kefier Sutherland, William Hurt, and Jennifer Connelly, Dark City is well worth a watch if you’re of the mind-bending persuasion.
