I’m not saying that Morgan Freeman is a bad actor, I’m not, he isn’t, he’s great, I swear! Like Danny Trejo only a thespian, Morgan Freeman usually plays the same type of role, but this role turns up in a number of very different movies. Think of The Dark Knight Trilogy, then think about The Shawshank Redemption. See? Totally different. The best example is when he plays God Himself (Alanis Morsette has nothing on Morgan), this performance really drives the point home. Morgan Freeman primary film role is that of the conscience. Like every mainstream hero’s Dumbledore, Freeman’s character keep the leads firmly in the side of good. Long may he continue.
