8. House of Flying Daggers
While House of Flying Daggers has more of a romantic drama feel, there are still some amazing martial arts sequences. Fights that have now become iconic such as the swords and snow fight over Mei, or the bamboo forest. You can really expect nothing less from director Zhang Yimou, with this, his follow-up to Hero. His work on these films would lead to his staging of the Olympic opening ceremony in Beijing. A job which was a little different to what he was use to: less blood.
