14 Films Trapped in Development Hell
5. Neuromancer
William Gibson’s cyberpunk neo noir seems like a prime candidate for a movie- at least that’s what Splice director Vincenzo Natali thought back in 2011. The problem again is funding, with studios not willing to take the chance on a volatile project, and independent companies being priced out by the films umreasonably large budget. In October of last year Natali stated that the script for the film had been finished for a long time with actors such as Liam Nesson and Mark Wahlberg expressing their interest. “It’s not on the fast track, but it’s very much alive and I’m hopeful,” Natali commented on his own personal white whale.
