5. The Guest
Already tipped for a Sundance opening, The Guest looks set to be one of the more critically accepted horror movies of the year. A family, bereaved by the loss of their son in the Afghanistan war, happily welcome one of his ex-comrades into their home. However, not is all as it seems, and the youngest child soon begins to suspect that something is up with his story. A claustrophobic thriller, it promises a great performce from Maika Monroe in a leading role.
