8. The Batman (Ivan Reitman)
I know what you’re thinking: “What the hell!” Yes, before Tim Burton, Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman was charged with bringing the Caped Crusader to the screen. His Batman of choice? Bill Murray of course, who else could play the darkest superhero ever, has to be Bill Murray. Crazy as it sounds, that was the thinking in 1983. The film itself would have been based on the Strange Apparitions comic and would feature the origin of Robin, gangster Rupert Thorne, and the Joker (who would fill in for Doctor Strange making the pun in the title useless). Eventually script problems put an end to what could have been the campiest Batman film.
