2. Never Assume It’s All Over

One of the biggest tropes in horror is the classic “it’s not over yet”. Just when our battered and bloodied protagonists have finally escaped the clutches of their tormentor/s, and they think everything is safe-bam! Bloodshed, murder, tears, death, death, death. However peaceful it might seem, you can’t let your guard down until you’ve completed the ritual that sends them back to wherever the hell they came from (which may well actually be hell). And never assume something as paltry as the credits means the nightmare has finished-more often, it’s just begun*! (*in the many, many sequels to come).
