9. The Pit and the Pendulum
Vincent Price always was the King of abject terror back in the day- and you really can’t go any better than this. An adaptation of an Edgar Allan Poe story, it stars Price as a man on the brink of madness with some very dirty secrets downstairs. It’s got it’s fair share of thrills and chills, but the final sequence will have you sleeping with the lights on for weeks to come. Don’t underestimate it, and don’t watch alone.
