7. Wookie Origin
Everyone loves the big, cuddly killing machine that is Chewbacca-don’t pretend like you wouldn’t sort of want him as a pet. Speaking of which, the original idea of Chewbacca came about as Lucas watched his wife drive away with their Alaskan malamute (a type of very furry dog) in their car. The way the dog looked peering out of the window inspired him to create the hybrid of bear, dog, and human-the name of which came from an ad-libbed line in his earlier movie THX-1138. The kicker? That dog’s name was Indiana…which was eventually given to the character of Indiana Jones.
