Now, I’m sure many people will be very angry that they didn’t find The Shining here-but when it comes to adaptations of Stephen King novels (a subject on which I consider myself an expert), then it’s got to be Tobe Hooper’s version of King’s terrifying small-town vampire tome. The stuff of childhood nightmares, it still holds it’s power to petrify all these years later. If you’re looking for honest-to-goodness scares with no frills attached, this is your best bet.
