6. Dracula
Now, how many adaptations of Bram Stoker’s Dracula have you seen? Even though this novel seems to act as catnip for every aspiring horror director, there’s only one true version of this bloodsucking horror classic-and that’s the 1931, Tod Browning-directed one. It stars Bela Lugosi as the deadly Count (after his death, Lugosi was actually buried in his Dracula cloak), and has been the only adaptation so far to truly get the atmospheric, dizzying atmosphere of the novel from page to screen.
