6. Amores Perros

Following the intertwined tales of three separate people, Amores Perros has been referred to as the Mexican Pulp Fiction. It certainly lives up to the violence of it’s predecessor- matching intense violence with horrifying revelations, there’s almost no part of the movie that isn’t peppered with sadness or a sense of hopelessness. Amazing performances-especially from a very young Gael Garcia Belen-mark this as a great movie, but also as one with extended dog fighting sequences and an obsession with human suffering. Grim.
