Trying to find a quote from drill sergeant Hartman (played in Full Metal Jacket by ex-real life drill sergeant R. Lee Emery) that isn’t peppered with profanity is next to impossible, but here’s one that you can roll out whenever the mood takes you, regardless of audience. It’s unknown how many of Hartman’s incredible lines were improvised and how many were written by writer/director Stanley Kubrick-but either way, there’s some fantastic zingers in there that you just won’t be able to resist.
