11. The Alamo
While John Hancock’s The Alamo was a horrendous failure, it could have been worse. The film’s producer, Oscar winner Ron Howard, tried to get the films budget up to $200 million. If that had happened, then The Alamo would have been the biggest box office disaster of all time. As it stands, the film lost $144 million. It took Hancock five years to come back to the Hollywood fold. He must have been as shell-shocked as much as the audience was bored out of their minds.
