13 Box Office Stinkers
3. The Postman
It’s a hard thing for a director to admit that they only have one good film in them. It’s even harder when that director is Kevin Costner, one of the biggest stars of the 90s. After nearly nuking his career with the tall drink of nothing that was Waterworld, Costner decided to regain his reputation by directing the three hour long insomnia cure The Postman. The film, as you would think, did poorly–making back under a quarter of its budget. Its total losses came to over $80 million and Costner’s dignity.
