5. Cutthroat Island
Before the days where Disney made cinematic failures starring real boys, there was Cutthroat Island–the proud owner of The Guinness World Record of biggest box office flop. It wouldn’t surprise me that the success of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise has nothing to do with Jack Sparrow, but because it looks like Citizen Kane compared to this Geena Davis starring action vehicle. Cutthroat Island’s total losses amounted to $145 million and with that, Geena Davis finally admitted that she wasn’t an action hero.
