6. 127 Hours
As a follow up to the Oscar winning Slumdog Millionaire, director Danny Boyle went so far into left field that he got stuck in a cave. Starring James Franco as Aron Ralston: a man who had to cut his own arm off in order to escape from a cave and death by dehydration, 127 Hours is a cerebral and shocking piece of filmmaking. Too bad that there is only one bit of it that everyone wanted to see. The rest of the film has been swiftly forgotten.
