9. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
It was a well-heard criticism of David Fincher’s last movie that it was pointless making it. The original was already a popular worldwide and introduced Noomi Rapace as the definitive Lisbeth Salander. So why make another. In fairness, Rooney Mara is superb in the role and Fincher doesn’t flinch at some of the seedier sides of the first instalment of the Millennium Trilogy. He may have taken the argument seriously as there is no news as yet of a sequel.
