6. Troy
Troy was supposed to be an epic to end all epics. Based on the famous battle from Homer’s Iliad (considered to be the birth of literature), Wolfgang Peterson’s film took a lot of liberties with the source material. First of all: Paris died in Troy instead of escaping in the film, Achilles was killed without seeing the Trojan horse, Troy was protected by a trench instead of a wall, and the war between the Trojan’s and the Greeks lasted ten years.
