15 Movies That Were Ahead Of Their Time
15. The Mist
Frank Darabont is the official Stephen King director. His first foray into film-making was the short film The Woman in the Room, which was adapted from a king short story. He has become a directing legend with King Classics The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile, but his most shocking film is The Mist. Adapted from King’s novella, The Mist is a cerebral monster movie starring Thomas Jane and Darabont’s Walking Dead collaborator Laurie Holden. The film is famous for its tragic finale which Darabont fought the studio as they wanted to change it. Darabont credited audiences, who he thought could take it, and a cult classic was made.
