So, at the start of every year, you probably sit down and have a good look at everything that’s coming up over the next yea, right? Just me? Well, even if you don’t, you’re bound to have a few movies at the back of your mind that you know you’re desperate to see- whether it’s a summer blockbuster or ten, or an arthouse movie you’ve been following since it was first announced six years ago. Whatever your poison, our list will find you something that you can resist a trip to the cinema for. And we’ll have no purists complaining about item twelve, y’hear?
1. Guardians of the Galaxy
Okay, so I understand that, like me, you’re probably very nearly finished with all these damn superhero movies. But Guardians of the Galaxy promises to provide something more than the usual sailing around the world and saving everyone spiel. Instead, you’ve got a bunch of misfits- including Bradley Cooper as the voice of a lonely, disillusioned raccoon who also happens to be an expert marksman- teaming up to take down some of the most formidable forces in the galaxy. Okay, so it might not be a huge leap from what we’ve already ready seen in this genre, but it looks like it’s going to have a sense of humour and some awesome actions sequences so, as summer blockbusters go, this will be my first pick.
