4. The Fountain
Well, Darren Aronofsky isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but surely his time-hopping drama The Fountain deserved a better reception than that it received! A classic case of the critics loving it and the audience loathing it, it found great critical acclaim but fell flat at the box office- the long, stuttering production time (Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett had to be replaced as production dragged on) was credited with eliminating interest in the movie. Even big-name draws Rahcel Weisz and Hugh Jackman couldn’t save this sinking (time-travelling) ship.
