6. The Hunger Games-Mockingjay-Part
While you’ll rarely hear me extolling the virtues of the first half of a duo, I think I’m right in saying I’m not the only one cautiously looking forward to the third instalment in The Hunger Games series. The films so far have been on the right side of blockbuster- thrilling, rollicking, and with a great story to boot- while maintain an air of critical clout thanks to the excellent cast. So far, the films have proved themselves to be extremely well-paced and belying their image as part of a four-part series thanks to lively visuals and some seriously in-depth world-building of the strange, violent dystopian future we’re privy to. Add lady-of-the-moment Jennifer Lawrence and stir well for one of the best young-adult adaptations ever.
