5. Liar Liar
Everyone has their favourite Jim Carey movie-for some it’s Ace Ventura, others Series of Unfortunate Events, and for no-one ever Mr Poppers Penguins. For me, it’s Liar Liar- not least because it’s gave a role to Cary Elwes, who could kind of always do with the work. Aside from that, this is Carey at his rubber-facing, fast-talking best- it’s hard not to get swept up in his exquisite farce comedy, and watching him pull himself into some of the most outrageous contortions he’s ever got into is an eternal pleasure. Will somebody please start giving this man work again? Seriously?
