10. Critical Reception
The critical reaction to The Notebook wasn’t great, with many dismissing it as a throwaway romantic drama with no staying power and no chemistry between the leads. Time, however, has proved them wrong-with The Notebook remaining Gosling’s most financially successful film despite numerous forays into more serious and critically acclaimed work. It looks like, no matter what, The Notebook is here to stay- a romantic drama for the ages whether we like it or not.
