It’s no secret that stars get on board with projects for a number of reasons-and one of the biggest ones is money. James Marsden, a veteran actor who plays Allie’s uptight fiancé in the movie, did not anticipate the movie’s success when he signed on-describing his reaction to the movie in a way I’m sure many of those less impressed by The Notebook would appreciate-he told OUT magazine “”I thought The Notebook was going to be a schmaltzy Movie of the Week – type thing, and here we are!”
