Although director Nick Cassavetes had always wanted Ryan Gosling to get the part of Noah, that’s not to say a few other names weren’t considered, even though it seems strange to imagine the role played by anybody else. Tom Cruise, and even teen crooner Justin Timberlake were linked to the film at various points-as was veteran blockbuster director Steven Spielberg. I’d have loved to see Spielberg directing Justin in a romantic drama but alas, it was not to be.
