4. Paranormal Activity
I won’t spoil the actual ending of this film for you, but suffice to say it did have several other widely-publicised alternate endings that were binned after Steven Spielberg came on the project. After almost ninety minutes of tension building, one of the alternate endings features Katie murdering boyfriend Micah downstairs, then returning to the static camera some time later to gruesomely slit her own throat. Another ending shows her shot by the police. Either way, the film left itself open for about forty sequels in the following years.
