Well, it’s greased lightning! Packed from start to finish with songs that you thought you knew all the words to until you realised how damn filthy they all were, this is probably the definitive movie musical- highly stylised, featuring two greats of the time (seriously, John Travolta, I swoon when you’re in those tight jeans), and featuring the kind of bubblegum high school plot that was to later popularise an infamous set of saccharine tween movies, the message is horrible-but damn, the songs are good.
