Yes, stop your screaming- The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is apparently loosely based on Ed Gein (making his second appearance in the list), who used to skin his victims after death. The movie follows a band of twisted delinquents who take pleasure in capturing and mutilating young victims-so how much director Tobe Hooper was inspired by these events is unclear, but they sparked something in him to make one of the most unpleasant horror films ever.
