3. Kick-Ass
Based off the cult comic of the same name, Kick-Ass subverted everyone’s expectations and provides a clever, blackly comic version of the world of superheroes. Following Dave Lizewski (played by a bespectacled Aaron Taylor-Johnson) as he dons a cape and takes on the bad people of his city, it’s hard not to get caught up in the silliness and intensely observant humour it draws from the genre. You’ll be searching for the soundtrack CD for weeks to come.
