At a time when M. Night Shayamalan was a seriously hot commodity-and superhero movies were still pretty much just for kids-Unbreakable appeared over the horizon. Throwing together brilliant, understated performances from Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson, this is a properly grown-up thriller with elements of the superhero genre woven throughout. Don’t be fooled by the genre; this one will make you think, as well as giving you a chance to see Willis in a career-best performance.
