10. The Purge
And to bookend this list off with a nice big hit of Ethan Hawke, here’s his second entry into the world of horror movies. Set in a future where crime is legal one night a year, it’s a sensationally uncomfortable watch-mashing together human violence with the need to protect ourselves against it. Featuring a bad guy that’ll keep you up at night, it might not be the best movie on this list, but it is one of the most interesting.
