7. John Dies at the End
While some people have complained that this doesn’t really qualify as a horror, think of it more as a high-concept monster movie. Fast, funny and clever, it doesn’t let up for a second in it’s deconstruction of the genre-with sharp performances from the two leads (and a grand cameo from Paul Giamatti), you’ll guess the ending-but enjoy the ride while it’s happening. Feels like the kind of comic book movie you’d like to see.
