3. James Cameron
Before Christopher Nolan became the king of thinky blockbusters, there was James Cameron. Beginning his career directing the often maligned, but fun Piranha 2, Cameron really got the ball rolling with The Terminator. This and its superior sequel (financially anyway) Terminator 2: Judgment Day, proved Cameron’s power at the box office. And if that wasn’t enough his last two films: Titanic and Avatar, are the two most successful films of all time. Next up for Cameron is the continuation of Avatar; which is set for 2016.
