JJ Abrams has the magic touch when it comes to blockbusters. His first film as director was Mission Impossible 3, a film that saved the franchise still reeling from John Woo’s cheese filled action sequel. Abrams, after proving himself by reviving one franchise, has made a career out of it. First he makes Star Trek cool again and reimagines Gene Rodenberry’s creation for a whole new generation, and now he’s been given the keys to the Star Wars kingdom. Along with Batman and Superman, Star Wars VII is the film that will have geeks holding their breath in anticipation until their faces are the colour of Samuel Jackson’s lightsaber.
