9. Michael Bay
Living proof that big dumb action sells: Michael Bay’s films have made a whopping $4.67 billion at the box office. Starting off with the stupidly entertaining Nicholas Cage actioners: The Rock and Con Air, Bay went full on Roland Emmerich and started pummeling the crap out of major cities. Sometimes he done it with big rocks (Armageddon), sometimes with Japanese planes (Pearl Harbor), but mostly it was with huge alien robots (The Transformers Trilogy). Next up for Bay is the fourth instalment of the Transformers saga: Age of Extinction starring Mark Wahlberg.
