Molly Ringwald originally wanted the part of Allison, but in the end it went to Ally Sheedy-who revealed she was glad she got her role as she could never have played Ringwald’s part. Ringwald has since expressed her only regret about the movie was not keeping her boots, as her entire wardrobe was purchased from Ralph Lauren. Sheedy, however, had parmesan cheese sprinkled into her hair to create an appropriate amount of dandruff.
