9. Peeping Tom
Hey, when a film pretty much ends your career, you must be doing something right, surely? I’m sure that’s what Michael Powell tried to convince himself after this film horrified audiences and stuck him on the blacklist for life. Intensely disturbing, this is a slasher film that was decades ahead of it’s time-featuring an unassuming killer who films women as he murders them just to catch a glimpse of the looks on their faces. More prescient now than it’s ever been.
